Usain Bolt (born 21 August 1986), is a Jamaican Sprinter widely regarded as the fastest person ever. He is the first man to win the 100 metres and 200 metres world records since fully automatic time measurements timed the races. Along with his teammates, he also set the world record in the 4×100 metres relay. He is the reigning Olympic champion in these three events, the first man to win six Olympic gold medals in sprinting, and a five-time World champion. He was the first to achieve a "double double" by winning 100 m and 200 m titles at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, and topped this through the first "double triple" including the 4x100m relays.
His 2009 record breaking margin for 100 m, from 9.69 (his own previous world record) to 9.58, is the highest since the start of fully automatic time measurements.
His achievements in sprinting have earned him the media nickname "Lightning Bolt", and awards including the IAAF World Athlete of the Year, Track & Field Athlete of the Year, and Laureus Sportsman of the Year twice in a row He has been called the world’s most marketable athlete and the greatest athlete ever.
Usain showed potential as a young athlete playing for a cricket team. His coach saw his speed on the field and he encouraged him to go to athletics. Once Usain was seen and how fast he was he was trained by old spinters who improved his abilities and kept him in the best possible shape.
Maybe this should be done to irish athletes so that they are already in top shape when they finish school. Never has ireland been consistant any track or field events. I personally more funds should be put towards developing are young athletes and supporting the senior ones.

Why Jamaica Have The Quickest Sprinters
After I watched the 2012 London Olympics I couldn't stop thinking about how and why the Jamaicans are so fast. Many different people believe in many different things. The most believable story i heard a few weeks ago really had me thinking.
The reason why Jamaicans are so fast is because, after the slave trade had ended and the British had left the Americas the Jamaican people and people in some of the other islands starting breeding the physically fittest men and women. By doing this they hoped they could make a superior race which would be men of the physically fittest men and women. If this is true this may be the reason why the Jamaicans looked untouchable at the Olympics this year and the last 3 Olympics.

So can the Jamaicans be beaten by hard work and training or are other athletes simply not as physically advanced?
